A little about me....

This year (2018) marks a whole decade since I shot my first wedding and started my photography business. When I say those words, I do have to pinch myself because I’m still here doing what I love, but doing it with a heap more experience. I’ve also met some of the most wonderful couples and families who I am eternally grateful to for continuing to support me with repeat bookings and fantastic reviews, I am blessed!

So much has changed over the last ten years too. My business and photographic style have matured and evolved; my family has grown with the addition of two more kids; life is hectic but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m also so incredibly proud of the business that I’ve grown, a business that allows me to spend precious time with my boys as they grow and gives me the freedom to be creative at the same time. It’s so important to find a good life/work balance and my boys have been my muses since day one. They give me inspiration (and crazy anxiety!) everyday with their wonderful imaginations and daring capers. I love to record everyday moments as well as the big events, so that in years to come we have a whole memory bank of photos that we can cherish. And of course, we're building a library of funny photos to embarrass our boys with when they bring their first girlfriends home! Life is about living to the full, doing what you love, learning new things, being with those that make you happiest and creating memories that you can cherish forever. All of these things have played a part in my chosen career.

In order to grow my business, develop my technical skills and stay contemporary with my work, I’ve pushed myself to learn more, try harder and always be the best I can be for my clients. I've trained with some of the UK's best wedding photographers and I make sure to undertake training every year. I've worked at many of the county's best known venues as well as further afield across the UK and my wedding travels have even taken me as far as Cape Town, South Africa.

Why I love Weddings

I don’t know many people that don’t love a good wedding......happy people all dressed up to the nines, good food, funny speeches, dad dancing and shapes being thrown on the dancefloor.....what’s not to love? From my point of view, a wedding is jam packed with raw emotional moments, real heartfelt loving expressions and tears of joy and it’s my job to capture as many of those once in a lifetime moments as possible. I enjoy taking the arty shots of the venue, flowers, and reception details too, but it’s always the people that make it memorable for me. Over the years, I've met many wonderful people, shared one of the happiest days in their lives and come away with some fabulous friends in the process.

There's no one else on your wedding day that you will spend as much one-on-one time with as your photographer, we are there with you from start to finish (almost)! So it’s essential that you choose someone that you feel completely comfortable with. As well as an initial meeting before booking, where I hope you will get a good feel for me and my style, I always aim to meet up with my clients over a coffee before their wedding so that we can discuss all the important details. This is also a great opportunity for me to take some practice shots to get you used to being in front of the camera, which means you get a mini engagement shoot thrown in with the package! Getting the best out of your wedding photos isn't all about poses, I want to capture the real you and the best way to do that is to help you relax. The natural shots, taken when you're not even aware of the camera, are usually the best one's!

On a typical wedding day, I start with the morning bridal preps. I love this time of the day, capturing all the little but oh-so important details that set the scene; the dress, the shoes, the make-up being applied, the giggles with the bridesmaids, the arrival of the Father of the Bride and then of course those magical few moments as the bride makes her entrance down the aisle. It’s also a great time for me to get to know the key members of the wedding party. We stay through to the first dance in the evening and capture as many precious moments in between as possible. I'm not your average bossy photographer that most people expect (no whistle blowing or shouting from me!), I try to remain as discreet as possible to allow you to enjoy the wedding that I know you've planned and worked so hard for. What you will get with me is a friendly, relaxed and professional photographer. I'm also open to all of your ideas and happy to work with you to produce the photographs that you want of your special day.

Our Wedding Clients

Our couples are generally looking for a natural reportage style to their wedding photographs, with some element of traditional group photographs. They want a creative and easy-going wedding photographer who doesn’t just stick to the standard stuff. It's important to have a mixture of colour and black and white photographs to choose from and then to have the freedom to have those photographs printed themselves, without huge expense or print issues.

Don’t just take my word for it; take a look at my Testimonials page where you'll find feedback from some of my previous clients.

Why I love Family Portrait Shoots

Jumping in muddy puddles and capturing children play and have fun is one of my favourite things to do. In fact, when I'm not photographing other families, I'm often out in the woods with my camera and my boys. Family shoots are a great way to capture you with the kids, outdoors  in a fun, natural and relaxed setting.
