Shropshire Petal Fields will be open to the public between 4th & 13th August this year.
I will be there on Sunday 6th August and Wednesday 9th August with limited slots available for family photo shoots amongst the beautiful flowers.
These mini-shoots will last for 30mins and include a lovely mix of family and individual portraits, some photos will be staged and others captured candidly. After the shoot, your photos will be displayed in a private family digital gallery on my website and you will be able to download the full collection of photos to keep. Photos will be high resolution and carry no watermarks, so perfect for printing yourself and displaying around your home. You will also have the option to purchase professional photos from my photo lab via your gallery, should you wish.
To book a shoot, you will need to contact me first to check date and time slot availability. I will provisionally book you in the diary for the shoot and you will then need to book family/ individual tickets for Shropshire Petal Fields. You can book your tickets here.
The cost of my mini flower field shoots is £150, including the shoot and all edited photos as above. A £50 deposit will be required on booking with me and the balance by the day of the shoot. If it rains we will still plan to go ahead, wellies and brollies always work well in family photos but if you'd prefer to postpone the shoot your deposit may be transferred to another family shoot at a later date (we will agree another beautiful location to work from).
To enquire or book, email me [email protected].
See you amongst the flowers!

]]>Small & Intimate Weddings | Shropshire Wedding Photography
Honestly, I would hate to be planning a wedding right now! The ever changing rules, the financial uncertainties both personally and also with wedding suppliers, not to mention the health of all those around us who ultimately we just want to protect. The latest rules on numbers at weddings means a maximum of 15 people in England will now be allowed to attend a wedding ceremony and sit-down reception in a Covid safe environment; with the new rules lasting potentially for another 6 months.
But what if you really have your heart set on getting married this year? Let's look at the positives.....
The coming together of two people who love each other is always a cause for celebration and the 'party' element of the wedding day and the celebrations with our friends and family can still happen at a later date. If you decide to go ahead with a wedding over the next few months, I'm offering a small and intimate wedding package (for upto 15 people) which includes;

Pre Wedding Shoot with Ellie & Tom
At the beginning of March 2020 we met with Ellie and Tom to run through the details for their big day, we also used this meeting to do a pre-wedding shoot so that Ellie and Tom could get used to the lens before the wedding that was due to take place at the beginning of April. Little did we know all plans were about to be thrown up in the air as we went into lockdown less than two weeks before the big day. Nevertheless, we got some cracking pre-wedding shots at both Claverley Church and their reception venue, The Old Vicarage Hotel at Worfield.
The Old Vicarage Hotel Worfield is a warm, intimate and homely kind of venue. I first shot a wedding here back in 2015 and by the end of the wedding day, Chris and I had booked our own celebration at the venue for our upcoming 10th wedding anniversary, we just fell in love with it.
Here are a few photos from Ellie and Tom's pre-wedding shoot, I'm sure you'll see why we love the venue so much. Also shout out to the gorgeous Ellie and Tom, I can only imagine how frustrating this year has been for you as dates have now been rearranged twice and your wedding put back almost a whole year. In a year that has been full of uncertainties, one thing I know for sure is that when we finally make it to your wedding day in March 2021, its going to be one hell of a party!!!!

Wedding of David & Rachel
As a wedding photographer, Covid-19 lockdown has brought me the precious gift of time. So, I've been over some of my less recent weddings, picked out some of my most memorable and decided to write a little blog about them.
Rachel and David's wedding stands out for so many reasons. For starters we had a fabulous pre-wedding shoot that gave us the opportunity to get to know each other better, to work out the best spots for photos on the day and to leave Rachel and Dave with some engagement photo memories. We chose to do the shoot at their wedding venue, the stunning Delbury Hall near Ludlow, Shropshire.
A couple of weeks later was the big day. An early June wedding that started with the bridal preps at Ridge Barn, a holiday cottage just a few miles away from Delbury Hall. This place was stunning, a converted barn with floor to ceiling windows that filled the place with fabulous light, perfect for those make up and hair shots. The girls had stayed here the night before so everyone was settled in and the prosecco was flowing when I arrived in the morning.
The barn gave the most beautiful backdrop with space and light, perfect for moving around the girls for natural shots and setting up those posed wedding photography detail shots of the dress hanging etc.
Rachel and Dave had an outdoor ceremony at Delbury Hall, one of the prettiest outdoor venues in Shropshire. I love the ability to work with natural light so easily at a venue like this and the scope to move around unobtrusively for different angles works really well.
Straight into the drinks reception and plenty of time for some chilled out natural and group shots.
The grounds at Delbury Hall are so versatile, every corner of this venue lends itself to beautiful wedding photography. From the hall itself, the lake, the stunning trees, adjacent fields, secret garden, old stone walls, and the well tended beautiful gardens, we could literally spend all day creating amazing photographs here.
And then it was on to the Wedding Breakfast.....
And there was even time for a few more couple shots after the meal.....
The rain can make the best shots sometimes.............
Love a good bouquet toss, always get the girls on there feet!
And to round off Rachel and Dave's day we took them outside with their close friends and got creative with the sparklers!!
One of my all time favourite weddings!

Whilst Lockdown has been a time of change and adaptation, of uncertainty and difficulty, the one thing it has brought to our household is time together and an appreciation for a more simple way of life.
I've been thinking ahead (hard to plan and think about at the moment I know) but when all of this is over, and it will be hopefully in the coming months, there will be a real sense of gratitude and appreciation for our freedom.
With this in mind, why not book that family photography session that you've thought about booking but not got round to. Go wild in the woods, have fun in the forest, run together, play, hug and celebrate our family and freedom. It would be fabulous to get grandparents and other family members involved too to celebrate being back together again or maybe best friends you've not seen for months! I'd love to photograph a reunion shoot or just a lovely family walk together with some fun thrown in.
With freedom and good times in mind, I'm offering a reduced rate on my family photography sessions in Shropshire. Instead of the usual £150, I'm reducing this to £100, with ALL digital images thrown in. To claim this offer, you will need to purchase a voucher from me for a 'Freedom Shoot', pay just £50 now and the remaining £50 after your shoot to release all of your digital images for download. Vouchers will be valid until the end of 2021. Shoots will last approx 1hour and will need to take place at a mutually agreed outdoor location within Shropshire.
Take a look at my Family Photography Sessions page here to give you an idea of my sessions and more examples of my Family Photography work.
Contact me here to enquire and purchase your voucher.

Wedding of David & Kellie
Kellie is an old work colleague and friend of mine, so when she asked me to photograph her wedding at Madeley Court Hotel, I was ecstatic to be part of her big day, its always nice to know you're going to hit it off with your couples from the outset. I went over to Kellie and Dave's new pad and we caught up over a cuppa and a few albums! It's been a while since we've seen each other, we worked together nearly twenty years ago, back in the days when we were young, free and living for the weekends (which probably started on a Thursday!) They were the days before real-life responsibilities, when our weekends were more about hot pants and house music, than homework and housework, and our Sundays consisted of lazy lie-ins rather than kids football and preppin' for the week ahead! They were the best of times!
So on the morning of the wedding, photographing the bridal preps with Kellie and her two bridesmaids was just like catching up with friends. The morning was relaxed, I even had a cheeky prosecco myself, not something I normally partake in when I'm working, but Kellie you're a bad influence!! :o) Kellie was in her dress an hour before the wedding so we had plenty of time for some lovely portraits. One of my favourite moments was the big reveal to Kellie's step-dad, his face was a picture, see below!
Those of you that know Kellie, will understand when I say that Kellie is an inspirational lady and walking down the aisle to meet her gorgeous, besotted and very tearful beau David, was a very emotional moment for everyone. Kellie you looked stunning and how you held it together so well when David was crying his little heart out, I'll never know. Such a beautiful ceremony with truly heartfelt words from the lovely registrar.
The whole day was wonderfully relaxed, we squeezed some couple shots in pre-Wedding breakfast and then got outside once the sun had gone down to showcase the couple in the grounds of the beautifully lit Madeley Court Hotel by night.
I always say its the people that really make a wedding and this one will go down as one of my all-time favourites! Looking forward to catching up with you soon Mr & Mrs Dickens, want to hear all about the honeymoon! xxx

Wedding of Amy & Joe
I first met Amy when she was Bridesmaid at a wedding I shot in 2018, she told me there and then she wanted to book me for her wedding and 14 months later, as if in the blink of an eye, Amy & Joe's big day had arrived.
It was lovely to see some familiar faces from the previous wedding and working with Amy & Joe was like photographing for friends. Joe especially was nervous about having his photos taken, so at the pre-wedding meeting we talked through how we could keep the photos as natural and as easy as possible and we took some practice shots so that Amy and Joe could get a feel for the types of shots we would do on the day. I've worked at The Park House before, but doing a pre-wedding/ engagement shoot at the venue helps me to formulate a plan for the day and definitely helps my couples to relax about the idea of the wedding photos.
Amy and Joe compliment each other so perfectly, they have an ability to centre each other when needed (like when Joe was nervously jumping up and down on the spot at the altar and Amy took his hands and calmed him) and they were both such fun loving people, they made each other laugh and smile all day long, that connection just can't be posed or faked and it just shone through in their photos. They had a wonderful bunch of family and friends who were all there to have a good time and the day was topped off with a fab Four Seasons tribute act who had everyone up on their feet dancing the night away.
Here's just some of their best bits........

Wedding of Daniel & Olivia
This was our first wedding at Pendrell Hall and all I can say is 'wow, what a beautiful venue'! From the spacious, plush and well considered dressing and bedrooms to the six acres of stunning gardens, this is a gem of a wedding venue. As its exclusive use too, you're guaranteed privacy for you and your guests.
My day began with Olivia and her bridesmaids, getting ready in the 'Love is Enough' Dressing Room and 'Strawberry Thief' bridal suite. This was such a relaxed environment for getting ready in. Olivia had five Bridesmaids and with mum's, make-up artists, hairdressers and me, there was still plenty of room for moving between rooms for some great shots of everyone enjoying the wedding prep. Whilst I spent time with the girls, Chris was just across the landing in the Pimpernel Suite, photographing with the boys.
The ceremony took place in The Morning Room, a gorgeous and ornate timber-panelled room with two huge bay windows overlooking the lawns and once the 'I Do's' were done we headed out front for some confetti shots. Drinks were then served in the Drawing Room which spilled out on to the terrace as the sun made its appearance just in time for photos!
We covered a 'half day' plus bridal prep with Daniel and Olivia and as they chose to do the speeches at the beginning of their wedding breakfast, we stayed to cover those too. I'm so pleased we got to hear the speeches, some lovely stories from Olivia's father, fun and cheekiness from Olivia's brother and some heartfelt words from Dan to Olivia. As Dan's best man was his dad, there were no embarrassing cringy stories but there was definitely a lot of love and pride in the room.
Daniel & Olivia's gorgeous Pendrell Hall wedding story.......
St Andrews Church, Great Ness, Shrewsbury
Packwood Haugh School, Ruyton X1 Towns, Nr Shrewbury
August Bank Holiday weekend and not a cloud in the sky......this wedding had everything you could wish for from a summertime festival feel wedding.......blue skies, picturesque village church where the Bride's mum and dad had married, a beautiful white Yurt set amidst the rolling Shropshire hills, food and drink flowing, fire pits and hay bale benches, night-time twinkle lights and a rocking party that went on in to the early hours of the morning.
When we met with Alice and Chris prior to the wedding, it was clear that this wedding would be very unique, much planning had gone into their day, however they also wanted it to be relaxed and completely informal. Guests were invited to attend with no ties, there were no formal group shots needed, just a go with the flow, documentary style record of the day was just what they were looking for. And so this wedding was jam packed with opportunity to capture tons of candid natural shots of family and friends enjoying every moment.
'Thank you so so much for these, they’re amazing and better than Chris and I could have hoped for. You really captured the day and we so enjoyed looking through them last night! Thank you and Chris so much, they’re perfect! ~ Alice

This was our first time at the barns and it instantly struck me as a warm, intimate venue, a lovely mixture of old and new in a fabulous rural setting. We shot Jen's sister's wedding back in 2012 and when I looked back to that day there are so many things that stood out for me, such as the hints to the Bride's Scottish roots and the brilliantly warm and funny speeches. So with a fabulous venue and a host of familiar faces, we just knew we were in for a great day!
Jen continued with the family tradition of the Scottish theme; tartan ribbons adorned the flowers and favours, there were beautiful blue thistles in the brides bouquet and the gents from the brides side wore their Scottish finest, I do love a kilt at a wedding!
We captured some beautiful shots around the grounds with Jen & Ian, the weather was so kind to us considering it was the end of November! These two were just too cute....
And this one just rounds off the day perfectly for me. When the party was in full swing and their guests danced and celebrated the night away, Ian and Jen had this moment, I get the feeling that they'd forgotten for just a few seconds about everyone else around them as they embraced, a perfect moment in time!
